A study published in Food Science and Technology Research found that elite level swimmers drinking a Cluster Dextrin® solution were able to perform at high intensity* an average of 70% longer before hitting exhaustion compared to just water or a glucose solution (comparable to other products).

Feel Less Fatigue

Additionally, in a study published in the Journal of Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, a dosage of 15 grams of Cluster Dextrin® (the same dose in a can of Aura) significantly lowered the rate of perceived exertion (a way to measure effort and exhaustion during exercise) both 30 and 60 minutes after ingestion compared to other carbohydrates like maltodextrin, allowing you to work harder for longer.

Experience Less Discomfort

A study by Hiroshi et al. discovered that subjects who consumed a sports drink based on 10% of a Cluster Dextrin® solution during bicycle exercise reported fewer gastrointestinal disorders (flatulence, belches, discomfort) and, as a result, could continue the exercise comfortably with little fatigue compared to the groups who consumed a glucose-based sports drink.

Reduce your Stress Hormone Response

Finally, a 2014 study conducted by Suzuki et al. found that triathletes who consumed this carbohydrate before a race had a reduced stress hormone response and lower urinary cytokine levels compared to when they supplemented with glucose (comparable to other sports drinks). This suggests that this carbohydrate lowers the inflammatory response of exercise, which in turn may increase performance and decrease the time spent recovering.
